The Elements by author Mark David is a big-concept 20th century mystery-conspiracy thriller series set in the years 1917-1987: More like a fantasy series in its scale and themes, yet rooted in the gritty, hard-core reality of the 20th century, in all its inglorious detail. The Elements PROLOGUE: Beyond The Light Of Reason
A notorious wilderness with a macabre past. A reconstructed Viking church by the shore of a lake. And a painting, a lost masterpiece framed in runic inscriptions without an owner. Too late, the investigator and suspects realize they have opened Pandora’s box as they become a part of each other’s fate, unwilling participants in a greater and much darker universe than the one they thought they inhabited.

THE ELEMENTS: The series began back in 2006, a blend of real and fictitious events drawing extensively on legends, mysticism, Archaeological discovery, the fight for freedom and the deeds of heroes and anti-heroes: The Elements is an intricate tale featuring a pantheon of characters set amidst the deeds and geography of Scandinavia and central Europe at the dusk of the cold war.
